Social Securities

Social securities play an important role in poverty reduction, reducing inequalities and promoting inclusive growth. Cohesion’s approach to facilitating social securities for the vulnerable communities integrates high ideals of human dignity and social justice. We believe that social security is a dynamic concept. It has changed over time and recently in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, there has been a lot of impetus on facilitation of state promoted social security net for the people who get affected the most in times of a disaster. Our basic purpose is to protect people of small means from risks or contingencies including but not limited to sickness, old age, invalidity, maternity, death, unemployment, vulnerability due to gender, disability etc. Working on social securities we have a dual approach:

Integrating facilitation and realization of government promoted social securities and benefits as part of the programmes to be implemented. This becomes a non-negotiable outcome as we motivate teams to achieve as much as possible because ultimately these efforts will also lead to sustainability of efforts and self-sufficiency ‘Atmanirbharta’ of the communities.
Implementing programmes aimed at increasing the penetration of government schemes and bringing maximum eligible vulnerable households under the fold of government programmes through awareness generation, facilitation and building local level Facilitators (Sahayaks) to help the community.

Key benefits from schemes that have been successfully realized by the communities through our efforts are MGNREGA, PDS, NSAP Pensions, PM Kisaan, Maternity and Health entitlements, Scholarships to students and many others.
