Cohesion has been working since 2005 with children of marginalized sections whose access to education is challenged by many factors such as poverty, cultural and gender barriers, remoteness and poor infrastructure of education system. Our focus areas in education are
Access: Enrolment, access to schools, learning materials, mentoring and counseling
Transition and Retention: especially for girls, Reducing dropouts, Increasing attendance
Quality Learning : Across all stages of education, ECCD 0-6 years, Elementary 6-13 years, Secondary 13-17 years through remedial teaching, peer learning
Governance: Strengthening SMC/ SDMC, Head Teacher and Teacher, Establishing SMC Networks
Cohesion could develop a scalable and replicable model for working with migrant communities, involving various stakeholders This model developed in two blocks of Kutch district was replicated in six districts.
