Striving For Holistic Development

COHESION Foundation Trust was set up in 1996 by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals. The team equipped with the experience of different facets of development, started as a support body, providing professional services to other organizations. The support included services like community organization project finance & management services including planning, monitoring & evaluation designing & maintenance of Impact assessment and Management Information Systems research, capacity building, democratization of development process & empowerment advocacy works etc. As a strategic move in the year 2000-01, Cohesion initiated its implementation units, with a view to enrich the exchange of learning through support activities. The organization got formally registered in 2001 under Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950.

  1. 1. Support our women Self Help Groups for Market linkages in Mehsana district.

  2. 2. Support our women farmers for enhancing their livelihoods in Navsari district.

  3. 3. Support our children who are going in aanganwadis by linking our work with ICDS Department and other Government line departments at Gautambudhanagar, UttarPradesh.

  • Sharpened its perspective building efforts to specifically address the challenges and issues faced by single women, prioritizing their empowerment and well-being.

  • Expansion in Uttar Pradesh for Early Childcare and Development

2021

  • Extended COVID relief efforts to over 400 villages, reaching out to more than 45,000 households and administering over 133,034 vaccinations.

2022

  • Organizational focus evolved to support and uplift women farmers.
  • Established a presence within multiple national and international networks addressing pressing concerns like climate change, women empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.

Sectoral Priorities

CFT works for both Rural and Urban Poor

Economic Priorities

  • • Farm based livelihoods

    CFT emphasizes better agricultural practices and market linkages by mobilizing farmers and forming Farmer Producer’s Organisation (Climate Resilient Agriculture Practices)

  • • Microfinance

  • • Non-farm based livelihoods

    CFT initiates small scale enterprises by promoting and strengthening People’s Institutions including Women Groups

Social Sector Priorities

Besides Livelihoods promotion, CFT integrates other basic entitlements and services for poor and vulnerable families such as Education, Health, Decentralized Governance, Human Rights including Women rights, Tribal Rights, Child Rights, water and sanitation, Strengthening of Local Governance, Disaster Management and linking poor with mainstream i.e. Government Departments and their Schemes. Priority is given to Women and disadvantaged sections of society under all sectoral priorities.
